Tattoo Client Agreement
These terms are subject to change at any time. Registered clients will be notified of any changes.
-
Clients must be at least 18 years old, not pregnant, and free of health conditions or medication that would complicate the tattooing process and/or the healing process. A release form will be filled on the day of the tattoo.
Preferred initial contact can be made through the Contact Page. Describe your tattoo idea in a detailed format and send reference material/images explaining your request. It is helpful to include an image of the area where you would like the tattoo to be positioned if it is difficult to describe. The artist is not obligated to take on your project. Most tattoos can be planned over email or direct messaging. Sometimes an in-person consultation is preferred by the client or the artist. Consultation appointments are free. When the artist accepts your project, a deposit + GST is required to book the tattoo. Rates can be found under the Payment & Rates heading of this page. A rough quote can be given upon request. The artist reserves the right to charge by the hour, or by the piece.
-
Once appointment date and schedule is set, the artist will commit to composing your design concept. Partially rendered concepts can be viewed during the Consultation Appointment. The artist reserves the right to only show the design in person (i.e., The artist has the right to protect their original intellectual property). The final design will be shown on the day of the appointment and final revisions will be completed to your liking at no charge.
Designs are not available for feedback outside of consultation or tattoo appointments. This keeps drawing time productive and without fees.
Please do not completely change your mind on what you want tattooed (example: requesting a butterfly, and then on the day of the tattoo requesting an eagle).
-
Begin actively nurturing the skin one week prior (limit sun exposure, moisturize, avoid harsh chemicals). This makes the skin much easier to tattoo and sets you up for a smooth healing process. Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment. Alcohol is a blood thinner and excessive bleeding affects the quality of your tattoo and can complicate the healing process. If you have any health concerns and/or are on medication that may complicate the tattoo process, consult with your doctor prior to the appointment date and follow your doctor’s recommendations. The artist reserves the right to cancel the appointment for medical reasons even if it was cleared by a licensed physician. Speak with your artist about whether numbing cream is recommended for the project. Numbing cream is not provided.
-
It is recommended to have a meal beforehand and bring snacks. Be aware and respectful with your personal hygiene. Water and pop are available at the studio. Set yourself up to be comfortable. Disposable pillows are available but feel free to bring your own. Bring your own devices to pass the time and to help create comfort. Feel free to invite a support person. Please make a request if you want to invite more than one person. Allow more time than expected since the tattoo process is also an art process. It can be difficult to predict the time needed for setup and execution. Tattoos are permanent and the experience cannot be rushed if quality is to be ensured. Do not touch the tattoo or the work area. Do not allow the tattoo to be touched by anything in the surrounding environment.
-
The total price is calculated as such: Artist’s rate (by the hour, or flat rate for the project), plus a $15.00 PPE & Setup fee, plus GST.
If the tattoo is charged by the hour, the time charged will be from when the tattooing begins until the bandage is applied. If the tattoo is charged by the piece, the price before GST will be communicated in writing beforehand.
2024 rate for Christian Sanchez: $225 per hour. Minimum 1 hour charge.
Payment will be made in full at the end of the session, less the deposit. All forms of payment are accepted. The artist will let you know if a certain form of payment is preferred. Payments are final – no refunds. Tipping is not necessary, but the gesture is always appreciated.

Remember to always handle a fresh tattoo with clean hands! The first few days are crucial for preventing infection.
2nd skin bandage guidelines (Saniderm, Hypafix, etc): Keep the bandage on for 4 days. Showering is permitted. Stay out of pools and hot tubs for the first week. Avoid strenuous activity. After the first 24 hours there may be some fluid pooled up underneath the bandage. If so, follow the traditional/exposed healing method below, or contact your artist about 2nd skin replacement. After 4 days, apply a small amount of lotion twice a day to help with dryness and itchiness.
Traditional/exposed healing guidelines: Remove the temporary bandage after 3 hours. Clean thoroughly, but carefully, removing all ink and fluids. Do NOT use harsh soaps with heavy fragrance. Air dry or pat down with a clean towel. Repeat this cleaning procedure at least twice a day, and as needed for the first 3 days. Do not use lotion in the first week. Aquaphor is a recommended ointment for healing an exposed tattoo. Less Is more – only apply a very thin film twice a day or after each cleaning. After a week, apply a small amount of lotion twice a day to help with dryness and itchiness.
For itchiness, do not scratch. Gently rub to relieve itchiness.
Contact your artist for any clarification you may require. 2nd skin might irritate some clients. If irritation or redness occurs, remove the bandage and heal it with no covering. If any redness or swelling persists or worsens, contact your physician immediately.
After one to 3 weeks, when the skin stops flaking like a sunburn, the tattoo will be mostly healed. There might be a waxy appearance to the skin. This is normal. A deep healing will occur over the next several weeks and months. Protect your investment by protecting yourself from abrasions and sun exposure.
